GUESS what I bought?... and why I love Manhattan

Whether you are an avid Shopahillic reader, or first time stumbler and browser of my site, you must know these two facts:

1. I loves me some puns.

2. I have a legit shopping problem.

My sister and I ventured into lower Manhattan today to play mini golf on Pier 25. Super fun and cheap: only $5.  As activities go, this ranked a "hole in 1".  We even got a "free show" checking out the skate park next door. Plus, we had some sweet views of the Hudson River.

Then, we wandered to Century 21 where she, the expert bargain hunter, got a lovely Etienne Aigner Bag and awesome patent leather oxfords for a steal.

Sadly, I could not find any shoes to complete my look for the wedding I am attending this weekend (see BCBG post)  There were no sandals of any kind left, and I want to show off my pedicure!  (Hey, its not winter yet!)

We decided to take a hiatus from shopping and grab some grub, particularly seafood. After an hour of wandering around downtown looking for the South Street Seaport, we finally found the historic cobblestone section of Fulton Street.  However, instead of a fish market, there were stores galore: Gap, Kara, Body Shop, etc.  Superdry was having a 30% off sale, and GUESS was blasting music.

GUESS lured me in with their sexy shoes and shiny jewelry. Sis helped me pick out a pair of nude patent leather platform peep toe slingbacks (try sayin' THAT five times fast).  The style is called the Hondo. I like the built in platform. Stealth.  Makes the shoes look more daring than they actually are. The saleswoman helped me out by advising me to go a half size down because these shoes run big.

The night ended with glorious fireworks in honor of my excellent purchase... or a Native American Pride event at the Seaport (technicalities).  Great show, great day, great shoes!

  1. That sounds like an awesome shopping day! I checked out the UWS Century today, but managed somehow to behave and not buy anything!
